Constructability Reviews

Downey & Scott has an in-depth understanding of all disciplines needed for a construction project's success.  We have licensed professionals that routinely conduct constructability reviews during a project's pre-construction phase, analyzing each discipline’s area of responsibility and identifying any potential issues that could occur during the actual construction.  If not identified during the design phase, these risks could lead to change orders, claims, delays, and cost overruns.

Our constructability review process substantially reduces owner risk by ensuring contracts and construction documents are clear in their intent and identifies potential issues before construction, allowing a project to be built within budget and within the scheduled time frame.

Our review process includes:

  • Allotted budget

  • Local conditions and limitations of access for work to be conducted

  • Inconsistencies between the construction plans and specifications, including vetting out priority specifications

  • Material assessment and compatibility

  • Trade coordination and project scheduling
