The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is a biomedical research facility primarily located in Bethesda, Maryland. It is the primary agency of the United States government responsible for biomedical and health-related research.
Since 1998 Downey & Scott has teamed with various designers, as a cost consultant, on fourteen separate projects for the National Institute of Health. These projects have included renovations to a diagnosis and radiology laboratory, director's suite, steam distribution system, an historic medical building, surgeon general residence, fire house 51, and buildings 10, 12 and 31 to name a few.
